Don’t bother. They’re too far away.
But the camera will bring them in.
Not worth it.
We’ll see.
Okay, I had to admit they were too far away for good clear pictures, but the alternative was no pictures at all.
The mule deer buck in the photo below is saying to his lady friend, “Aw, come on. Don’t be like that! … All right, I’m sorry.”“Did you hear that?”
“It’s nothing. Just an old lady with a camera.”How many deer do you see? I see two. One normal one and another with two bums.
Here’s a pretty one, getting ready to leave.
She turns to say one last goodbye to me, flaps her mule-like ears and is gone.

I especially like the two-bummed dear with the extra big ears. Very nice pictures!

I like the deer with two backsides. It reminded me of a very similar photograph my father took when I was a boy. It appeared to show a lamb with two heads.

Where the deer and the antelope play. That’s where you’ll find Anneli. Terrific pictures!

I’d love to get pictures of antelopes. I missed them this year. Kind of far away when we saw them.

Those are in nice condition going into winter! When I moved back to Montana in 1993, mule deer were very low in numbers here in the northwest and it was a big concern. Now they are plentiful. Beautiful animals!

Yes, they are in good shape. There’s plenty of food for them here. I hope they have a good winter.

Beautiful creatures! I never realized how big their ears were. So glad to hear their numbers are increasing. Thanks for taking the risk and getting some great photos to share with us.

The ears are the reason they’re called mule deer, but I’m sure you knew that. They sure are huge. They turn them around to catch the sound. Kind of funny to watch that.

Reminds me of my seven-legged elk in Big Creek in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The camera was too smart for its own good. Check her out here: http://bigcreekjournal.blogspot.com/2015/06/june-15-2015-return-of-elk.html

Haha. Two bums. Them’s some pretty big deer. 😉 They look like they’re eatin’ good. That zoom lens works great. You did a great job of keeping it steady.

A tripod would have been better but I haven’t met the deer yet that would hold still while I set it up.

No, a third one in another pic. Is it my cataracts?

LOL. Or mine! Yes there is a third deer peeking out of the shrubs. That’s the one who is about to become the spare bum for the next picture.

Oh, that is what happened! Hahaha, you see, I just can’t trust my eyes any more. Threats of macular degenerations, sudden bilateral cataracts, heh.

They’re farther away than I would have liked, but I do love the scenery in this part of Montana. It’s not just boring grass as many people believe prairie land to be.

We love it. We come here every year at this time. Some of the grasses in the coulees are a painter’s (or photographer’s) dream.

Anneli, your photographs are great and we clearly can see their sweet eyes and ears! I love the fact the two deer standing next to each other created a twin set of bums. You have such a fun outlook and great sense of humor in these deer comments. 🙂
