After the blizzards of the last few days, the sun came out for a few minutes, just long enough to bring the whole city out to the grocery stores and create desperate parking lot jostling and unprecedented lineups at the tills.
That all changed overnight when the wind switched direction and brought strong winds (littering our yard with branches large and small) and plenty of rain to help dissolve the snow.
Notice the larger branch that came down next to the woodshed and the smaller bits all over the rest of the ground.
I looked out at the water this morning. Our usually sheltered bay is a wee bit rough today, but … “Surf’s up!”
I’ll take a wet and windy day any time over the freezing snow blizzards we’ve had.

Those are some big waves! I love the maple leaf flying too. The top photo is beautiful Anneli, you’ve got a great view! ❤️🇨🇦

The flag is there because there’s a sea cadet camp at the end of the spit. The view? Well, yes, it’s not bad. It sure let’s us know what kind of weather is moving in, because it often seems to come right up the bay.

Wouldn’t it?! All those snowy bits among the trees would be a real brainteaser.

Oh Canada, what a beautiful land you are. I never forgot how it was, living there. I am thankful for it, forever.

That’s an odd comment. But then I thought about it and realized that even with the wild weather, it’s peaceful because there are no people. Good point, Hans.

But it does make sense now, if you think about it being just “you and nature,” right?

Love the stormy weather, especially when you are near the ocean. Lots of water starting to pool everywhere, now that the melt is on. If you add in all the rainfall, surf might be up in my backyard soon! Wonderful photos!

Looks very blustery out there, Anneli. Love seeing the boat fenders in your wood shed, and the first photo of the sunlit mountains and clouds is beautiful.

Ah, the fenders! Yes, one of those scotchmen has some reflective tape on it and the first night after the Captain had hung them up on the woodshed, I was taking the dogs out for their business in the backyard. I shone the flashlight around in the dark, checking for cougars (because there had been reports of one in the area) and I almost had a heart attack when I saw two eyes hiding by the corner of the woodshed. (The tape, reflected in the light of the flashlight.)
