A Chilly Day

I heard Lincoln commenting on the weather.

Chilly air this morning. Snow in the hills. A flurry or two even right here at home.

Hmm…. Let’s see … Anneli’s been putting out sunflower seeds for me, but it’s getting kind of boring.

I suppose I could find some of the food I stored away around this stump last fall.

What do you think I should do? What’s that? Get used to doing my own thing again? I thought you might say that.

Okay, here goes. I’m pretty sure I put something right here.

Or maybe it was here….

Della? DELLAAAAH! Have you been raiding my stash again?

On the left, she said. I could swear I had put it on the right of the stump.

Ahhh … here you are my PRECIOUSSSS!

I love these walnuts once they sprout.

And a new bud for dessert. Gotta have my greens.

Oh that’s yummy in my tummy. Feelin’ bad now for hollerin’ at Della.

Think I’ll go back to sunflower seeds tomorrow. It’s easier on the nerves.

  1. Awww he’s so cute Anneli! The lighter coloured fur around his eyes is unique. Your view across the bay is amazing but so cold, yikes! 🥶

    • It has been a really cold week for this time of year. The hills across the bay are a good indicator of what the weather is doing or is going to do. And thank you for being tolerant about the number of photos I post of Lincoln. He entertains me so much!

      • I’m a Yank, I grew up in the deep freeze! Lincoln is so cute, I envy his simple life. More Lincoln photos please? 🥰

        • Thanks, John. I feel very lucky that Lincoln has decided to live here. He used to pass through once in a while, but this winter he has taken up permanent residence in the woodshed and has become tamer. The Cap and I are always saying to each other, “Be careful when you get that wheelbarrowful of wood. Careful where you take it from, so you don’t block any tunnels or hiding places.” So who’s in charge here anyway?!

  2. He is so adorable and I love your script. I agree with John that his simple life is very appealing right now. And yes, more Lincoln pictures, please. 🙂

  3. Lincoln really is a sweet little guy. By the way, has your accidental bite on your finger healed up without any problems? Love seeing your photos of Lincoln, but wow, the fresh snow on the hills photo is so beautiful.

    • Yes, thanks for asking, Sonja. The bites have healed very well, and I haven’t thought about rabies for a while. If I start behaving weird (I mean more than usual), let me know so I can have a teleconference with my doctor.

    • Thanks, Ursula. I’m glad you like seeing Lincoln. I’m always happy when he comes out to say thank you for the sunflower seeds every morning. I’m sure he’ll enjoy them this morning after we had that snow/rain shower. Brrrrr.

  6. He is just so adorable. And your photos!!! Have you heard about the little picnic table for squirrels that has become a viral idea for people to make while they are at home?

  7. Here it’s a rainy morning, but in spite of the rain, “our” squirrels were on the ground under our bird feeder, busily picking up seeds that had fallen down.
Have a wonderful weekend, Anneli, and stay healthy,
    Pit
