Whoever said that snow was white
For certain didn’t get it right.
I know in shade it has some blues
And purples adding pretty hues,
It’s sad when snow shows bleeding red,
A little bird may soon be dead,
If dusty specks turn snowflakes black,
Just turn, you’ll find a chimney stack,
Sometimes a doggie has to go,
So never eat the yellow snow,
But early sunrise glowing pink
Makes snow the prettiest, I think.

Dear Anneli,
snow even more so ice can have the schine of all prismatic colours, you are absolutely right.
We like your poem. We had to smile reading it.
All the best

Yes, why not?! Lucy can wake up to the pink snow and wonder what makes it sometimes pink and sometimes white or blue.

Well, Xhosa has a second trilogy coming up and that is in devastatingly snowy environs. Hmm…

Learned about yellow snow as a youngster in Maine. In the good old days, we used to make Maple Sugar Ice with snow and Maple Syrup. We got permission to “tap” the Maple trees across the road from our house, we didn’t know how rich we were. Now we pay “munches of bunny” to have it shipped to us.

What a beautiful memory to have. Most of us don’t get to experience that (and pay munches of bunny instead).😍
