Where is your mother, little mice?
You’d better get back into your nest.
Mama Mouse was found in an old apple box that, once she had jumped into it, was too high for her to jump out of.
Mama Mouse was exhausted from all the jumping efforts, and lay still after her rescue, soaking up the warmth until she recovered from her ordeal.
In a few moments, she perked up, and remembering her children, rushed to save them.
M is for Mighty Maisie the mama mouse and her three blind mice.
I know that some people are afraid of mice, but how do you think they feel about us?
Here is one of my favourite poems by Rose Fyleman:
Mice
I think mice
Are rather nice.
Their tails are long,
Their faces small.
They haven’t any chins at all.
Their ears are pink,
Their teeth are white.
They run about
The house at night.
They nibble things
They shouldn’t touch
And no one seems
To like them much.
But I think mice
Are nice.

These critters serve their purpose here as we do. 😊

Yeah. The mouse’s purpose is to eat cheese, right?

I suppose they will eat anything if hungry enough! 🤭

Poor momma mouse trapped in a box! Glad she was rescued. I like them too.

I think she was getting hypodermic. She just lay on the warm ground, soaking up the warmth for several minutes before she got active again.

Auf Bildern finde ich Mäuse süß, liebe Anneli, aber im Haus möchte ich sie nicht haben. 😅
Liebe Grüße,
Martina ❤️

As long as Mama Mouse and her kids are not in the house, I am OK with that. Lucky for the little ones that Mama was rescued from her ordeal. Happy Friday Anneli. Allan

I’m so glad the mama was rescued, and the little ones were saved because of it. The poem is great; it reminds me of Ogden Nash. On the other hand, when I read “M is for Mice,” the first thing that popped into my mind was “Thank you Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin,” and I’ll probably have it running through my mind all day.

How you tracked Mama and babies down is another story. Poor mama! I can only imagine her worry.

I like the mice when they are outside. Good that you rescued mama mouse just in time. The little poem and the pictures are very lovely.

Didn’t you get bit by a mouse this year? Anyway, I hope she got back to her babies.

I think mice are nice, too, and I love the poem. (I’m not so keen on the bald pink babies, I must admit!)

Many animal babies don’t look their best when they are first born. But after a few days they look better.
