“First it rained and then it blew;
Then it friz and then it snew;
Then it fogged and then it thew;
And very shortly after then
It blew and snew and thew again.”
I don’t know who wrote that poem, but I think it has been around a very long time.
Also, I should mention that these photos are from six years ago and are not a true reflection of the weather here today.

Thanks, Lynette. Snow makes the view looks nice but I would love to see palm trees right now.

I’m happy to say that the photo with all the snow in our yard is from about 7 years ago. But we could get the same again in January or February.

The poem seems to be included in Mount Rainier Nature News Notes, but no particular author. Winter is best described as changeable. The saying in Alberta is “If you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes”. It has been another abnormal winter here this year, with more snow, but also with about 5 sessions of freezing rain so far. Enough with the freezing rain already. Happy winter Anneli. Allan

I tried to find an author, but I think it is pretty old, so I figured it was safe to use it. Changeable weather is what we have. I just hope it doesn’t change to snow like I have pictured on these older photos.

Yes, it does. I’ve put my time in farther north in BC and can’t say I miss the cold and snow.

Yes, it is, John, but these days we haven’t seen much of it with all the rain and cloudy weather. On a clear day it looks nice.
