The ski hill is beautiful, day or night.
More snow is on the way.
Surrealistic wonderland,
Lit up electrically,
A fairyland of paths and trees,
It lures us magically.
The moguls swirl like ocean waves,
Prepared to toss about
The skiers who would dare descend
Around them, in and out.
Thanks for the photos, Pat.

Lovely poem and your night ski hill photos are beautiful! Yes, it looks like some snow or snowy rain might arrive. We were supposed to get some wet snow as well but it has been too warm. Rain is better anyway!

Rain can be dreary, but you don’t have to shovel it. (The photos were taken by my friend Pat, but he will appreciate your comment.)

Exactly – no need to shovel!

Dear Anneli
On such ski-hills, we learned to ski in the Black Forest. Beautiful pictures.

It did, indeed, dear Anneli. I liked skiing.
Later, my first publisher had a traditional Black Forest house quite high up. I visited him often – but that was long ago.

My mogul days are over, but I can still recall the challenges of moguls. Happy Sunday Anneli. Allan

Beautiful pics and poem, Anneli. I recall my first encounter with moguls, and it did not end well. Another lesson in preferences.

Haha! You and me both! I remember as a beginning skier, being on top of a hill and seeing the sign that say “Easy.” I thought if that drop-off was the “Easy” way, the “Difficult” trail must be straight over the cliff. To say I was terrified, is putting it mildly.

Lovely photos, a very inviting place to be! I skied the moguls back in the 1980s with my friends, it was so much fun!

I’ve never skied, but I sure could skate at one time. The photos are beautiful. I can’t remember seeing nighttime photos of the slopes, but of course I don’t look for photos like these. Do people actually ski at night, or are the lights just for decoration?

I remember going night skiing one time and it was bitter cold with a little breeze. Like being in a blast freezer.
