The sign was way up the road so that was supposed to make it okay. And the “locals” said they are active in the salt water in May, and this was in February. That was enough to make me nervous. But I admit, I’m a wimp when it comes to that kind of thing.
Call me a wimp too, Anneli. When I was recently in Florida with my sister, we were walking the cart path on the golf course and saw gators in the ponds. That’s too close!
It would be interesting to know. Either way, I’m already mentally damaged goods as far as fear of the unknown is concerned in those lovely saltwater beaches.
I loved swimming in the ocean when I was young and lived in So. Cal. But not here in No. Cal. where great whites enjoy the ocean too. Great photo and words, Anneli.

I don’t know how he can just forget about all the “jaws” out there.

Your haiku reminded me to watch out for the surf’s under toad, too. Excellent, Anneli!

I don’t know how he could not worry about what all is in that water.

Ok! Well, everyone knows that so in theory, they are responsible for themselves.

It’s a beautiful feeling, but I must admit I can’t stop thinking about what else might be in the water.

I understand and share some hesitancy. I don’t know if there are more animal attacks or simply more news coverage.

Thank you, Ursula. The Captain was braver than I was. He even went on a night dive there. I was more afraid for him than he was for himself.

I was going to write, ‘brave soul,’ but then I changed my mind.
Foolhardy soul. But a fantastic haiku.
The problem with these people is they don’t think of the other people who have to risk their lives to rescue them when they get into trouble.
