I know what you mean. It’s a problem for many who don’t grow up using English as a first language. It wasn’t mine either but I was very young when I learned it. Maybe try thinking of “the” as more specific and “a” meaning more like “some” or “any.” For example: Get in “the” car would mean a specific car, while get in “a” car could be any car in the world. Keep working at it. You’re doing great.
I think you’re spot on. This one was chasing me down the slope, trundling along towards me. Luckily he has very short legs. I would not have wanted to connect with him.
You sure wouldn’t want to get too close, or have your dog try to pick one up. Emma came close but luckily we could call her off. If she hadn’t listened she would have paid a painful price.

Again a great combination of haiku and the photo. ( Is it ” haiku” or “a haiku”.)

I don’t know. Maybe it depends how many syllables you have to spare.😘

These articles, a and the, are difficult for us, Finns, because in Finnish there is no such articles. I am often confused about which one to use.

This is another critter I’ve never seen — I always think of them as cacti on legs!
