It sure seems like it, Anneli, and I grew up around deer hunters in my family from the 1960s onward. I never was a hunter though. I’d rather shoot an animal with my Nikon. 😊
Oh yes, he does have antlers, but the tree partially blocks them out, and it does look like he has just twigs between his ears. I’ve known some people like that (haha). Anyway, he is quite safe here. When the Captain phoned home and said he didn’t find a buck that day, I told him I shot one in the back yard … with my camera.
Most definitely a smart buck. Years ago there was a special reserve in Montana’s Bitterroot Valley. No hunting was allowed on this private land so the savvy deer stayed within its protection during hunting season.

Me too, but I can’t deny that I like biting into a steak or a chicken drumstick. It’s a real dilemma.

Poor buck has no antlers, just some twigs between his ears. He feels quite safe in this hunter’s yard.

It’s the way the light is hitting it, I guess. The droplets on the tree twigs are doing the same thing.

Oh yeah. I thought those droplets were lights on the tree. That’s cool.

Ha! I’ll have to try to wangle that for Christmas. Might have to get the Captain to put on some tiny lights.
