Brothers at the beach,
Their cares are out of reach.
They shovel sand,
Walk hand in hand,
Exploring crabs,
And keeping tabs
On anything that crawls.
Brothers on the stones,
They lick their ice cream cones.
Flavours blue
And peachy too,
In chilly air,
They don’t despair,
Each lick a treat to savour.

Beautiful, Anneli and love the photo too. The boys seem so peaceful and in harmony with nature and living in just the moment! We have much to learn!😀

Bit of poetic license there but that’s okay, I guess. Thanks, Luanne.

That’s what licenses are for–to make it ok ;).

As an amateur poet, I need plenty of “license.”

That does look like a perfect day, Anneli. Maybe a bit cool for ice cream, but kids don’t care about little things like that. The poem captures the moment wonderfully. Can’t help but smile.

Any time is good for ice cream when you’re a kid, but I agree with you that it looks a bit cool. You can tell from the way the kids are huddled into themselves.

I love this post! The joys of nature and ice cream! They are just the sweetest boys. Oh and by the way, it is never too cold for ice cream.

Their noses are probably blue from the cold, and in one case, possibly from the blue ice cream, but I love the brotherliness of the picture.
