NAP TIME
In the shed, a squirrel can hide,
But it’s dark and gloomy,
Warmer days now and I ride,
On the branches, “Zoomie!”
Soon I’m tired of playing games,
Can’t keep up this pace,
Go away ye gents and dames,
While I rest my face.
See my head, it’s hanging down,
Too much work to lift,
No more danger all around,
Off to sleep I drift.
Thankful for my furry tail,
Just like in the nest,
Keeps me warm and without fail,
Sunshine does the rest
The squirrel is in the photos of the woodshed. Do you see him in the top left corner just under the edge of the roof? Over the last of the hoses?

I did spot him napping above the hoses. These photos are adorable and he’s such a little cutie! It’s so great that he’s comfortable at your place.

This is his home. He wanders around to each of our closer neighbours sometimes, but he always comes home.

I don’t know of many people who share their homes with squirrels. I think it’s so lovely that you do.

YES! I once saw a young squirrel, first day out of the nest, slip off a branch and catch himself by one leg only. It was amazing to see him pull himself back up to safety.

He knows where he’s got it good. Squirrels are so cute. On our forest walk yesterday, they were scampering about and not to be deterred by us humans. Happy Tuesday Anneli. Allan

And they’re so brazenly inquisitive and scold us for just looking at them. Have a good day, Allan.

I have one that’s chosen a favorite limb for napping, and I often spot it there in the early afternoon. In the morning? It’s all zoomies! The whole group of them chase for a good hour or so, around and around (and around and around) the trees.

I’m falling in love with your squirrel. Do they get the zoomies, too, like dogs do? Who knew?

Oh! Do they ever! I worry about them way up there. Even on a snowy day I saw two of them chasing each other along those slippery branches.

We always like to have plenty on hand to dry out well before we need to use it. Makes a safe home for the squirrels too.

Thanks, Carol. He had his eyes half closed and I was afraid he might fall off his ledge when he dozed off.

Now that you mentioned the squirrel in the first photo I discovered it by zooming in. In the last picture this lovely little critter is from the looks of it gradually drifting off into a deep slumber. Great photos, Anneli!
