We are in our winter storm season and wheelie bins, flower pots and occasionally fence panels go roaming. But wind can be a friend to nature, when it knocks down woodland trees and creates gaps for smaller plants to grow.
I read an entire book about trees–what we can tell about our environment from them–to add one line into my upcoming book! Your trees fit what I learned perfectly (leaning into the wind). I bet you figured out that meaning without a book!

It definitely can be both! Nice haiku. 😊 Great pictures, Anneli. That first one is very dramatic.

You’ve offered both sides of the weather coin, for sure! The answer to the ‘friend or foe?’ question, of course, is ‘both’!

I’ve definitely seen both sides of it. Most of us have.

Thanks, Belinda. We were having a picnic as we drove home up the island, and as we sat near the beach the weather changed rather quickly.

I did, but it would be very interesting to know more about trees. They are such magnificent plants, all over the world.

The winter wind here right now is making -23 C feel like -39C. I hate it, but can’t wait for the gentle spring breezes. Happy Sunday Anneli. Alla

I remember those temps from the years I lived in Dawson Creek. Now I find -1 hard to take!
