Hoo-whee! These fir cones are like a candy cane. So good!
Oh! Sorry. That was rude of me. Would you like to share this one?
These cones come in little wings that you can peel off. I’ll get one for you.
What’s that? Not your kind of food? Oh, too bad. I’ll get back to it then.
Say, if you really want to see me in action, play the video. Be sure to turn up the sound so you can hear the robins singing their spring songs.

A more efficient eating machine has yet to be invented. Good captures Anneli. Allan

They are amazingly fast. When they crack sunflower seeds they are so fast too, and the shells just fly.

Ursula! You mean you don’t believe that this is what he is really saying? I’m sure I heard him say what I wrote down. 😊

He is a little cutie. He’s a bit smaller than the other squirrel that hangs around here, but he’s a survivor.

It’s amazing that a critter so small knows how to survive all by itself through the seasons. ❤️😊

I’ve thought the same thing too. To survive some of the brutal weather we’ve had over the winter too.

Ooh, I love to hear the robins, Anneli! The squirrel is having a wonderful lunch. My squirrel climbed on the pole to get the seeds from the bird feeder. He climbed to the top of the shepherd hook then climbed down but the feeder kept turning as he tried to manipulate to feeder. He shook some seed down and ate them on the ground though.

Mine just got up on the deck of our house the other day and made a mess digging up my plant pots. They sure can be a nuisance, but we love them anyway.

We watched the baby squirrel grow into an adult size. He was a brave baby, climbing down the 8-foot wooden fence.

They are amazing, how they can hang onto the tiniest foothold.

Lovely shots and video. Chewed up pine cones are a fun thing to look for and identify so it’s nice to see this one in the process of being turned into potential fieldsign!

This squirrel is much more efficient with his fir cone than I am with a cob of corn.

If you ate that fast I doubt that anyone at the table with you would approve.
