Be happy and be full of cheer,
My sunny petals say,
The bee is giving me no fear,
He comes here every day.
And when my petals dry and fall,
My seeds have tasty crunch,
They seem to be the dinner call,
For little birdies’ lunch.
*See the chickadee in the middle photo and the nuthatch in the bottom one.

I can see the chickadee but the nuthatch only with the help of a magnifying glass. I am looking forward to seeing the fields of sunflowers in a couple of month. Nice pictures and poem.

The nuthatch is on the bottom right side of the photo, under the brown sunflower head. They love the seeds.

Good morning, dear Anneli
Here we have to wait for several weeks until our sunflowers are in full bloom.
We love sunflowers and your sunflower pictures.
Wishing you a happy weekend

I have to confess that we do too. I cheated and used a photo from years gone by. Have a great weekend, all four of you.

I can envision the sunflowers singing happy days are here again. A lovely poem, too! Nearby are farms growing the giant sunflowers, Anneli, and it’s a delight to see their faces following the sun.

Oh gosh! I haven’t thought of that song in decades! Now I’ll probably be humming it all day long.

Our first sunflowers are emerging now, even along the freeways where the highway department does its best to eliminate them. There’s no stopping the sunflower!

It’s too early for ours, so I cheated and used a photo from another year, but I do love seeing them. So sunny and happy-looking.
