That’s fairly true of the coastal black bears because they fish and forage for food, but the black bears that live in the interior of the province are quite predatory and have been known to attack (and sometimes kill) people who get in their way. But I’d rather meet a black than a grizzly. Better yet, only from a safe distance, like in a boat.
Oddly enough, I have a can of bearspray, for coyotes in the neighborhood, but it’ll do… (oops–I’m trying to excise ellipses from my conversation. A work in progress).
That’s me, Anneli. I’m fed up with having to log in for every comment. I complained to WordPress, and they basically said, ‘We know. It happens on mobile devices.’ That was months ago.

Thanks, Lynette. The boat was a good place for the man to be just then.

They look so furry and safe. I suppose of all bears, they are the one best to run into.

Didn’t know that. I know the sows are always dangerous. OK, next time I run into a bear, even if it’s black, I’m fleeing

Bears are best observed from a distance and from inside a vehicle. Happy Friday Anneli. Allan
