Rufous spies some newly planted grass seeds strewn liberally on black soil.
“Nahhhh…. I’m sick of the same old, same old. I’ll wait ’til they feed Crispin his sunflower seeds and invite myself for lunch.”
“I’ll leave you a few … if I’m not hungry anymore,” says Crispin.
Don’t think I’m not caring,
And I don’t mind sharing,
But Rufous is greedy,
It’s not that he’s needy.
It’s lovely to have enough,
Life here is not so rough,
Maybe I’ll leave Rufous
Seeds. Such a doofus.

Rufous is a cutie Anneli. Who can deny him some grass seed? Have a great Monday. Allan

He lives in my garden. He and the missus have their nest under the rosemary bush in there every year. I see Junior sometimes when I’m watering. Jr. comes running out and the parents squawk and get upset.

I so enjoy and love your critter posts. I amazed at the beautiful photo of Rufous. I have seen a Towhee in my yard a few times, but they always stayed hidden just enough that I could never get a photo of one.

My camera magnifies fairly well, so I can take a lot of these pictures from the deck of my house.

Cute squirrel family! In my garden shed they are messy and need to learn table manners.

So cute. Messy eaters like my FIL used to be. Like my cat Perry is.
