Anybody Home?

Are you in there, Turtle dear,

Hiding in your shell?

I don’t mean to make you fear,

I would treat you well.

But you’re smart to stay inside,

Waiting ’til it’s quiet,

Better to keep still and hide,

Not to cause a riot.

When my footsteps fade away,

And it’s safe to peek,

You will live another day,

Playing hide and seek.

We don’t see many turtles or tortoises around here.

A fun photo and words, Anneli! They are true survivors taking their home with them everywhere they go. ❤️

A good sighting on your trip Anneli. All we get here are frogs. Have a wonderful day. Allan

That’s a lovely picture and poem, Anneli. Staying inside his shell is definitely the right thing!

Thanks, Lynette. Much as I would have liked to see the owner of the house, it was better for him to stay inside.
