The Squirrels’ Playhouse

I think I’ve found just the place where Della and I can have a little fun.

But I tried the door…. It might be a squeeze to get in here.

Anybody home?

Come on out if you’re in there.

Nobody home. But if Della and I are going to have fun in this playhouse, I’ll have to do some renovations to the door first.

Here goes. Watch me work. I hear a neighbour doing renovations with his skill saw, so why not me?

That’s enough chewing.

Now to check it out. Woohoo!

I wonder what it’s like in there….

Oof! That was a bit of a tight squeeze.

But I’ll take it. It’s a fine playhouse. Now to find Della and get her to come and play house.

  1. That is totally darling! Thanks for sharing those clips. It was great to hear all those birds in the back ground (I blocked out the chain saw).

  2. That is the cutest clip I ever saw. But I don´t think that Della fits in this playhouse together with Lincoln.

  12. OMG squirrels are so aggressive! They get points for not giving up, though. Great video too!

  13. Much as I’m impressed with the power of squirrel teeth, I’m glad we humans don’t respond to a poorly-fitting door by biting it!

    Very cute.

  14. Hi there, Anneli,
I have not given up on you, just been too busy and sick after my move to Germany, three years ago.
As I am still subscribed, I get your fabulous posts in regular intervals, and I am glad to say, they are getting even better as time moves on 🙂
My cooking blog lays dormant since about two years, and now, my other passion has completely taken over.
There are basically two things in my life that matter – Bella, and my love for watches.
I don’t know if you or the Captain are interested in watches, but I leave a link, just in case.
Take good care of yourself, your husband and all the animals and plants that matter so much to you 🙂
    Best;
    Hans.

    • Hi Hans,
I’m so happy to hear from you. I wasn’t sure if you were so sick you couldn’t continue with your blog or what happened to you. So you still have your beloved Bella. That’s good. Thank you for leaving a note on this post. I wish you all the best and hope to hear from you now and then. I appreciate you checking in on my posts. Take care of yourself.
      All the best,
      Anneli

  16. Thanks, Anita. These squirrels don’t mind performing for us, and I’m glad they let me get some pictures of them. They are so fast when they want to be, that I would never get any pictures unless they let me.

  17. Well, isn’t that something! I’ve never seen a squirrel do that before. A tight fit indeed. 🙂

    • Last year the Captain saw Lincoln try the same thing at the same birdhouse, but it was occupied (chickadees, I think). He said the mother chickadee met Lincoln at the door and pecked him on the nose. That was the end of the visit. I guess he thought he’d try again this year.
