Dickie’s Thanksgiving Dinner

Hey, Folks! Welcome to my dinner,

See that walnut? It’s a winner.

Wish it wasn’t quite so tough though,

Broken teeth can really hurt so.

There! I’m in, and it’s delicious,

I can tell that it’s nutritious.

Getting down to slurp the last bits,

Stretched my stomach so it all fits.

Sniff the shell for sticky pieces,

With persistence, it releases.

After giving it a tap,

All is gone, so time to nap.

I hope you’re having a great day while I have a nice snooze

on my full belly.

Thanks, Sonja. Those squirrels really are so sweet. I’m glad they have the woodshed to hide out in when the weather gets cold. They pack bits of leaves in between the rows and make nests so I don’t need to worry about them getting too cold. I sure love having them around.

Your photos of Dickie are adorable. It’s amazing that he can fit that whole nut in his little tummy! He definitely needed a nap afterward.

Dickie is so very sweet. They must have very sharp teeth to be able to crack those walnuts. The poem to go with the pictures is as sweet as the photos, love it!

Erst den Bauch vollschlagen und dann ein Nickerchen machen. Fast wie wir Menschen es auch tun.
    Zu niedlich, das Eichhörnchen 😁😀

Looks like Dickie’s quite comfortable dining in view. Squirrels are so entertaining to watch while they are chowing down. Happy Saturday Anneli. Allan

It’s a real balancing act to keep them “wild” and away from the house, but to have them tame as well. They’re quite comfortable having me come near them in the woodshed, probably because they have so many escape routes available there. Have a nice weekend, Allan
