Clematis

I’m giving myself another challenge for the month of May:

A picture of a bird or a flower with a short poem to go with it.

Don’t expect fancy poetry. It’s just for fun.

My family is buttercup,

But I outshine them all,

You’ll find me climbing gutters up,

My vines won’t let me fall.

    Dear Anneli
The clematis is here in full bloom at our house right now. We have a white one in the front and a dark blue one in the back.
    Your poem is fun 🤣

Loving white flowers as I do, this one really appeals. It does have a bit of a buttercup-ish look to it. It may or may not outshine the buttercups, but it surely does outclimb them!

Lovely flower, and fun poem. I love clematis. We had a house once where we planted several clematises on one wall which only has one window on the upstairs. They were lovely.

Some years later, we passed the house. The new owners had removed the clematises and painted the wall a shocking pink! Ugh! It looked horrid and garish.

I know it’s not my house any more, but it made me sad.
