Just found three of your comments in my spam and have tried to correct this. I’ve had trouble commenting on other blogs too, so I guess I should check my spam folder more often. Sorry if you thought I had neglected you before.
No worries, Anneli. It’s so weird how that happens sometimes with WP. The app has lately been telling me that it can’t update because the “internet connection has been lost” when nothing of the sort has happened. So annoying.
Did he? How did he differentiate when he wanted to call one of them? I wonder how they felt about that? I suppose I’ll have to call my irises “Iris 1, Iris 2, Iris 3 …,” etc.
I just googled him because you piqued my interest. Did you know he died in March this year? I hope all the Georges do their best to live up to his good name.
What an enchanting poem and a beautiful photograph! The blue “Iris Girls” enjoying the sun are truly charming—so vibrant and full of character. The poem brings the flowers to life and conveys a loving feeling, as if they were all enjoying the beautiful summer together. I’m so happy to see how you captured the beauty of the irises with so much imagination and heart. Thank you for sharing—it really brightened my day! 🌼

Well they inspire me! Their mother Iris might have been like George Forman (the legendary American boxer) who named all five of his sons ‘George’.

He gave them all nicknames, and I think their official first names were ‘George I, George II, George III, George IV, George V’. That man was colorful!

For a prize fighter, he was such a likeable guy. I hope at least one of his kids carry on his positive attitude. Thanks, Anneli.

I like irises because they bloom for quite a long time and they’re very hardy.

Very showy and glamorous irises! The wild iris we have here is bright yellow.

Yes, our wild iris is yellow too. We see them at the edges of marshy areas (which surprised me because they are also so hardy in dry areas).
