Poppies Pop Up

A few years ago, I planted a couple of poppies in my garden.

Now, if I don’t make an effort to get rid of them, they try to take over.

So … I let them.

Poppies pop up everywhere,

Brightening the world,

Taking every space they dare,

Their beauty is unfurled.

Let them take over. They are so beautiful. We have a similar situation in our back border, although the poppies are mostly white. Have a great afternoon Anneli. Allan

I always think of poppies as red, but those wine-colored ones are glorious!

Wild ones are blooming in the mergers here. They brighten up a car journey. (And because I’m not logging in AGAIN, this will come as anonymous.

I think that the flowers look nice. Is there a disadvantage to letting them do their thing? What reason would someone have to try to limit their growth?

Either you don’t have the same ravenous deer we have or maybe not the same numbers around, but they keep our flowers under control most of the summer ha!

What a gorgeous garden. And I believe you have peonies in there too, but not sharing space with the poppies, which would certainly love to take over. But awwww, they’re too lovely to refuse.

I think if you’re looking at the bottom left of the top photo, you may be looking at part of the huge rhodo we have outside the garden. It’s about ten feet high and has big pink blossoms. They look similar to peonies, but, sadly, I’ve never had any luck growing peonies. (The tree inside the fence next to the compost bin is a young fig tree that has 52 figs this year!)
