Frosty Food

Fields

Of frost

Crunch under

Our cold, webbed feet

As we nuzzle plants

To find their juicy roots.

Icy air drives us to eat

From dawn to dusk to keep our heat.

Memories of balmy spring breezes

Help us survive the harsh winter freezes.

That’s a nice photo of all of them in the field. So true, the pickings are becoming very slim for them.

Are those birds geese, the white and dark ones? Are the brown ones Canada geese? Nice picture!

Your poem is so true, the try to survive through wintertime, with minimum food. I just can’t understand how the tiny bids survive here.
